CSCA explained: what the scholarship guide says about the test for bachelor's applicants
Two provisions of the Application Guide for Chinese Government Scholarship cover the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA). Section IV, item 7 requires applicants for bachelor programs to take the CSCA and upload a valid score report when they apply. Section VI, item 6 requires bachelor's applicants to register for and take the CSCA before the application deadline and to obtain a valid Score Report. Both provisions are conditions of the Chinese Government Scholarship, not general admission rules.
Who the two provisions apply to
Section IV, item 7 applies to applicants "when applying for bachelor programs." Section VI, item 6 applies to "applicants seeking to pursue a bachelor's degree." Both are written in the scholarship's own terms.
For a self-funded applicant, these two items do not set the conditions. The rule belongs to the scholarship.
What each provision requires

Section VI, item 6 also tells the applicant to contact the target institution about the required test subjects for the applied major. Section IV, item 7 is a separate provision. It requires the upload of a valid score report when applying.

Section VI, item 6 names no test subjects itself. It refers the applicant to the target institution for the subjects required for the applied major.
